Structural Engineering Intern

AECOMs Water Business Lineis seeking an Structural Engineering Intern to support water wastewater treatment flood protection and associated projects in our Chelmsford MA office.  This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful national group under the direct responsible charge and supervision of Registered Professional Engineers that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities.  Join our team while we continue to deliver innovative and successful projects and help the communities in which we live and work.  

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 

• Perform assignments requiring the applicationof standard techniques procedures and criteria to carry out structural engineering tasks associated with the technical design and layout of concrete steel masonry and timber structures for water and wastewater treatment facilities.  Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. 
• Prepare design drawings plans sections details and profiles/sections within Autodesk Civil 3D AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit. 
• Work under the mentorship and supervision of a senior engineer. 

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements: 

• Currently enrolled in a college program working toward a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or other related field from an ABET-accredited university.
• Must have completed 2 years of study. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Capable of using spreadsheet word processing and standard office software. 
• Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position such as AutoCAD Revit Bluebeam and commercially available engineering analysis packages. 
• Demonstrated Experience in communication teamwork problem solving and writing skills.
• Coursework in Engineering Mathematics Statics and Engineering Design.
