Senior Structural Engineer

Position: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Initial onsite (Austin TX)
Duration: Contract (Possible for extension or hire)

Job Responsibilities

• Support the design and construction of semiconductor research and production fabrication facilities (fabs).
• Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures along with the creation of justifying structural calculations including foundation systems for sensitive equipment vibration isolation and control strategies (dynamic analysis).
• Conduct advanced structural analysis using finite element modeling (FEM) tools for dynamic loads thermal expansion and vibration transfer paths.
• Make technical assumptions think independently to complete work and draw conclusions based on sound engineering judgement.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of both internal and external design deliverables including calculations drawings and specifications.
• Support project delivery phases including preliminary design and planning estimates with limited scoping design development constructability reviews and construction
• administration.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders/leadership presenting design options trade-offs and risk assessments clearly and concisely.
• Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including MEP/F piping/process and architectural professionals.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineering from ABET accredited program
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in structural engineering with at least 3 years focused exclusively on semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs)
• Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) any US state.
• Deep familiarity with US building codes (IBC ASCE 7 ACI 318 AISC) and semiconductorspecific design standards.
• Familiarity with 3D coordination software (Revit Structural and Revizto/Navisworks)

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Masters degree in civil/structural Engineering
• Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure industrial or operational facilities (semiconductor automotive solar battery etc.)
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE)
