The school is seeking a strategic and experienced School Business Manager (SBM) to oversee the operational management of the school.
The SBM will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that financial planning facilities management and administrative systems operate effectively. The role is central to ensuring that the school runs efficiently and that resources are aligned with the schools long-term priorities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key operational areas including finance HR processes premises and administrative systems.
Lead the operational management of the school
Oversee financial planning and budget management
Manage administrative and support staff teams
Coordinate premises management and maintenance planning
Ensure effective procurement and contract management
Support the strategic planning process with senior leaders
Monitor expenditure and resource allocation
Ensure operational systems support teaching and learning effectively
Oversee HR administration including recruitment processes and staffing records
Manage compliance with operational policies and procedures
Coordinate major operational projects and improvements
Work with governors and leadership to ensure financial sustainability
The school is seeking a candidate who can demonstrate strong organisational leadership and financial management skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in operational or business management
Strong financial management and budgeting skills
Excellent organisational and strategic planning abilities
Experience managing teams or operational services
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Experience with procurement and contract management
Confidence working closely with senior leadership
Ability to implement efficient operational systems
Commitment to supporting the wider goals of the school
Experience within an educational setting is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong business management backgrounds.
