About the Role:
Caterpillar of Australia is currently seeking a Technology Project Team Lead to join the team located either in Perth (Bibra Lake) or Brisbane (CBD).
Caterpillars Technology Division seeks a Technology Project Team Lead for the MineStar System. The role is responsible for technical leadership on mining technology projects for staffed and autonomous underground vehicles focusing on new product development enhancement support performance and innovation. The position ensures solutions align with product strategy. You will be responsible for delivering technical solutions that seamlessly integrate with the Caterpillar site technology solution suite.
The position also involves providing technical support to MineStar operations teams. The Technology Project Team Lead must demonstrate an ability to foster strong relationships and partnerships with product support commercial teams strategy teams process owners and customers ensuring exceptional service is delivered. Excellence in serving product support teams and customers directly contributes to delivering best-in-class value for the MineStar solution.
Successful candidates will possess advanced technical and analytical abilities effective communication and project management skills comprehensive technical knowledge sound engineering judgment and proven leadership qualities. Additionally the incumbent should demonstrate the capacity to interact with mining customers diplomatically and with robust technical expertise.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Manages and coordinates technical feasibility assessment planning design optimisation schedule management risk assessment/mitigation project communication and on-going production support.
Promotes and fosters strong partnerships with partner organizations internal to Caterpillar and with suppliers external to Caterpillar.
Research and monitors industry developments such as technology materials and process advance; identifies potential new product opportunities and strategies.
Monitors product development and production processes and activities.
Leading Product Improvement projects.
Stimulating team innovation
Communicating globally with suppliers team members and other business units
Providing guidance and oversight for product analysis and validation.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum or equivalent experience
Greater than 10 years of relevant product design software development or mining technology development experience
Proven team leadership experience
Decision making critical thinking communicating for impact and customer focus.
Proven experience executing projects requiring in depth technical analysis or applying analytical processes to solution development.
Demonstrated problem solving capability.
Demonstrated record of self-directed work.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
5 years experience working on Software and Systems Development
Project Management experience
Product Development Experience - leadership experience
Experience with application of automation and information technologies to machines
Additional Information:
This position is in Perth Brisbane or Melbourne Australia
This position requires up to 25% travel approximately 1 week every month
