IT Project Manager with strong Business Analysis -Sydney/Anywhere in Australia

We are seeking a hands-on IT Project Manager with strong Business Analysis capability to support the early stages of several IT initiatives.

This role will focus on understanding current systems and processes defining requirements and preparing projects to move through governance and into delivery.

The role requires someone who is comfortable wearing both Project Manager and Business Analyst hats and working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

Senior Business Analysts who are looking to transition into Project Management are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to understand current systems processes and operational challenges

• Document current state processes systems and dependencies

• Facilitate discussions to define business requirements and improvement opportunities

• Prepare future state recommendations and solution options

• Develop key project artefacts including:

  • Project briefs

  • Business cases

  • Project plans

  • Requirements documentation

  • Governance submissions

• Coordinate activities required to move projects through internal governance and approval processes

• Support planning and prioritisation of initiatives aligned to the organisations IT roadmap

• Work closely with internal teams to prepare projects for delivery readiness

Key Skills and Experience

• 8 years experience in IT project delivery and/or business analysis

• Demonstrated experience supporting IT systems or digital transformation initiatives

• Strong experience preparing project initiation artefacts and governance documentation

• Ability to translate business needs into structured requirements and delivery plans

• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills

• Ability to work independently in early-stage projects where scope may evolve

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Background as Senior Business Analyst Project Manager or hybrid PM/BA

• Experience working across systems delivery and process improvement initiatives

• Comfortable working in hands-on roles in smaller or early-stage projects

• Senior Business Analysts seeking to move into Project Management will be highly regarded
