QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Education (Masters degree preferred)
- Valid Arizona Teaching or Administrative Certificate
- Five (5) years classroom or administrative experience
- Professional development skills in the area(s) of: communication and conferencing leadership development classroom management standards-based curriculum peer observation and mentoring knowledge of subject matter delivery of instruction and assessment of student academic progress
- Graduate coursework in curriculum content or other education area.
- Ability to collaborate with appropriate District and schoolbased administrators and programs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Successful experience working with diverse populations. Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES: Title I Paraprofessionals
JOB GOAL: To mentor teachers in data analysis and improvement of instructional delivery through modeling coaching and delivery of professional development opportunities for the purpose of increasing students academic achievement; to organize and supervise the Title I intervention program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist teachers on the delivery of instruction including instructional strategies and techniques learning styles student engagement strategies critical thinking skills in the classroom and incorporation of SEI strategies into all content areas.
- Assist teachers in understanding and delivering differentiated instruction including small group instruction reteach enrich and stations (where appropriate).
- Model direct and explicit systematic instructional delivery with scientifically based instructional research.
- Assist teachers on lesson design and planning including identification of performance objectives within the standards writing objectives backward design assessment and incorporation of critical thinking skills based on Arizona academic standards.
- Assist teachers in developing appropriate formative assessments consistent with lessons taught.
- Assist teachers in classroom management to improve instruction with the focus on routines and procedures.
- Use research-based and best practices to aid teachers in the management of time space materials and behavioral aspects of the classroom.
- Assist in organizing and providing professional development on district assessments.
- Assist teachers in analysis of student-learning data from formative and district assessments and effective use of those data in planning for instruction.
- Assist teachers in implementation of appropriate and effective use of technology in the classroom.
- Conduct professional development activities in collaboration with the Director of Educational Services including the formation of learning communities.
- Provide and/or facilitate professional development for teachers in the form of training mini in-service and staff discussions.
- Provide follow-up and extension of professional development training.
- Serve as a member of the site leadership team.
- Serve as a member of the District Instructional Team.
- Participate in New Teacher Academy activities.
- Collaborate on the adoption and implementation of curriculum resources.
- Collaborate on the development implementation and monitoring of school site school continuous improvement plans.
- Prepare teachers for professional evaluations
- Assist teachers with professional improvement plans as requested by teachers or the principal.
- Supervise and support Title I paraprofessionals
- Assist in preparation for and administration of statewide testing.
- Meet frequently with other Instructional Coaches the site Principal and the Director of Educational Services.
- Support and assist implementation of site and District vision and mission.
- Participate in District professional development workshops and training.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal and Director of Educational Services.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1560 hours per year with a one-year contract. Salary and work days to be established with the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Instructional Coaches.
