Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides skilled nursing care to critically ill children. This role involves patient assessment medication administration treatment planning and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The RN must be capable of floating within scope to meet facility needs.
Location:Chicago Illinois United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the PICU.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PICU or similar critical care setting.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- **** candidates preferred.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; resources are required to float at the facilitys discretion.
- Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month required.
- Maximum of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days.
- No holiday RTO.
- No RTO the day prior or after a holiday.
- No RTO on weekends.
Scheduling:
- 3x12s 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- No block scheduling.
