Job title: Clinic Phlebotomist
Location: Position will float between our four outreach clinics - Necedah New Lisbon Elroy and Lake Delton.
Schedule: Full-time 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Weekend rotation: No Weekends
Holiday rotation: Paid Holidays
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist position draws blood from clinic patients so tests can be performed and doctors can make diagnoses.
Position Responsibilities:
- Send out all pathology and cytology bone marrow biopsies and fine needle aspirates.
- Perform in house lab tests.
- Check lab orders to make sure orders are correct confirm physicians on the orders and make changes if any are needed.
- Perform vein draws puncture blood heel sticks and finger pokes; verify patients information do drug screens do breathalyzers (if competency is completed) and keep phlebotomist updated with changes and new protocols.
- Register patients as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy training preferred but can be trained on the job.
- DOT breathalyzer certification preferred.
- Must hold and mainain a valid current drivers license.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
- Comprehensive phlebotomy skills.
- Knowledge of lab protocols.
- Self-starter with compassion and excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
