Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates the care of patients families and significant others in the ambulatory care setting. This role involves assessingdiagnosing planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems including the evaluation of the patients response to care.

Qualifications:
- Education: AAS or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure:
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing license.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current Infection Control Certificate.
- Current Child Abuse Certificate.
- Experience:
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an Ambulatory Medical Surgery or ER setting preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with telephone triage and diagnosis procedures.
- Knowledge skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in nursing including assessing patients.
- Technical Skills:
- Must be proficient in using computer applications and the internet.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medications.
- Soft Skills:
- Must be able to multitask successfully.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong telephone communication skills demonstrating empathy respect and the ability to use open-ended questions.
- Must have the ability to make critical independent decisions and prioritize appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess plan and intervene in actual or potential health problems for patients in the ambulatory care setting.
- Coordinate care for patients families and significant others evaluating their response to treatments and interventions.
- Perform telephone triage utilizing clinical knowledge and communication skills to assess patient needs and direct them to the appropriate level of care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using computer systems.
