A well-established Passenger vehicle OEM requires a Parts inbound team leader to join their team

Function
Supply Chain & Logistics Inbound Operations (Receiving & Put Away)
Purpose Of Position:
Lead the Receiving function to ensure accurate safe and on-time inbound processing of OEM partsincluding booking inspection exception handling put away and system transactionswhile maintaining stock integrity regulatory compliance and high service levels to internal stakeholders and downstream warehousing/fulfilment teams. Drive continuous improvement optimise labour and dock utilisation and uphold OEM quality standards.


Minimum Qualifications:
Matric/Grade 12 (or equivalent) Required

A diploma or certificate in Logistics Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Operations (advantageous)

Valid forklift/reach truck licence Advantageous (where hands-on support is required)
Skills And Experience:
35 years inbound/receiving experience in a high-volume distribution centre preferably OEM parts or automotive/industrial spares

13 years people leadership/supervisory experience (leading 825 colleagues across shifts)

Strong WMS proficiency and ERP transactions

Hands-on with barcode scanning processes and put-away strategies (e.g. zone velocity-based fixed/bin locations)

Solid grasp of inventory control (cycle counts discrepancy resolution root cause analysis)

Working knowledge of quality standards for OEM packaging/labelling quarantine and non-conformance workflows

Familiarity with OSH Act safety practices 5S and ISO 9001 principles

Exposure to imports and customs documentation (commercial invoices packing lists HS codes) Advantageous

Proficient in MS Office (Excel Outlook Teams) and reporting; comfortable with KPI dashboards

Ability to handle complex and difficult situations

Key Duties And Responsibilities:
Receiving Operations

Plan and execute daily dock schedules coordinating with transport team

Validate ASNs booking references and delivery documentation (POs packing lists CMRs customs docs)

Oversee inbound unloading counting and verification (SKU quantity batch/lot serial numbers UOM condition)

Ensure timely and accurate GRN (Goods Receipt) in WMS/ERP; resolve interface errors and IR mismatches

Manage quarantine and non-conformances (damage short/over mislabelling) raise RFCs and drive supplier returns/RMAs

Enforce labelling/barcoding standards (OEM label specs shelf life/expiry RoHS or special handling where applicable)

Put Away & Space Utilisation

Optimise put-away routes and rules (velocity size/weight hazardous segregation bin zoning)

Oversee bin allocation to minimise touches and improve pickface availability

Collaborate with Inventory/Planning to adjust storage strategies during range changes or seasonal peaks

Inventory Integrity

Drive first time-right receipts; reconcile discrepancies promptly

Execute cycle counts bin audits and stock investigations document root causes and corrective actions

Maintain traceability for lot/serial-controlled parts; ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance as applicable

People Leadership & Engagement

Lead schedule and develop a team of receiving clerks forklift/reach drivers and checkers

Conduct daily huddles toolbox talks and on-the-job training (SOPs 5S safety)

Coach performance manage attendance and timekeeping and participate in performance reviews and skills matrices

Foster a continuous improvement culture; recognise good performance address issues promptly and fairly

Safety Quality & Compliance

Enforce HSE standards (PPE equipment prechecks safe stacking pedestrian/vehicle separation)

Maintain a clean organised receiving area (5S) with clear lanes signage and spill/flammable controls where relevant

Adhere to OEM quality requirements ISO 9001 procedures and relevant OSH Act provisions

Uphold data integrity and document control; support internal/external audits

Stakeholder Collaboration & Customer Service

Liaise with Parts Admin and Outbound to prioritise urgent parts and resolve issues

Provide timely status updates on critical inbound lines and shortages impacting dealer orders

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Track and report KPIs (see below) analyse variances and implement corrective/preventive actions

Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives (dock-to-stock time error reduction space utilisation)

Contribute to SOP creation/revisions and team cross-training plans

Support systems testing (WMS/ERP changes) UAT and new functionality rollouts

Any other ad hoc tasks or projects required from time to time
