The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Construction & CIP Support is looking for an Administrative Officer 1 in Anchorage to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

In this role you will serve as the primary administrative lead for the Construction sections within the Central Design Engineering and Construction Division. You will manage key operational functions including financial management personnel and payroll coordination procurement activities and general office administration. The position works closely with the Construction Engineer section managers and regional administrative staff to ensure budgets staffing actions and operational processes are managed efficiently and in compliance with state policies and procedures. You will analyze financial activity coordinate personnel actions and utilize the State of Alaskas IRIS system to support financial procurement and human resource functions. This role also supports the development and improvement of internal administrative processes to help ensure efficient operations across multiple construction programs. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills independent decision-making and the ability to coordinate complex administrative functions across the division.

The working environment you can expect:

This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage Alaska. It is easily accessible by a paved multi-use path and bus routes 40 and 65. Located on the shore of the beautiful Lake Hood Seaplane Base near Ted Stevens International Airport. Office hours are flexible. Hybrid teleworking is available for this position. As a side benefit you will have easy access to bike & walking trails around Lake Hood.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization business administration public administration finance banking accounting industrial relations marketing human resource management logistics and supply chain management or a similar business field.
