Position Overview

FleishmanHillard a global communications agency has an immediate opening for aVice Presidentin our New York office. This EarnedMedia Lead roleprovidesa fantastic opportunity for a passionate proactive communications professional withstrong communicationskills to join the leadership teamof one of the agencys largest clients. Because the client is laser-focused on earnedmedia and its impact this is a highly visible high-impact position withsignificant influenceon both the account and the broader team. The EarnedMedia Lead will be a central player withmany eyes on their work and a direct hand in shaping the teams approach and the clients success in the earnedmedia space.

As a key leader on our team you will partner closely with senior leadershipbe responsible forbuilding the earnedmedia strategy and for shepherding the teamto secure top-tiermedia coverage. This role will require seamless project coordination attention to detail and organization. The ideal candidate should be proactive and solution-oriented with several years of earnedmedia experience and deep relationships in the lifestyle and entertainment space.

Responsibilities/Areas of Focus:

  • Proactive Communication:Deliver cleartimelyupdates to clients and teamleads. Tailor all communications to audience needs with client-readymaterials that require no senior review. Providetimelyresponses and proactive updates to clientsanticipatingneeds and addressing questions before they arise. Proactively share updates and strategic shifts.
  • Media Relationships & Trend Awareness:Build andmaintainstrong connections with top-tier journalists and editors. Stay ahead ofmedia trends editorial needs and industry shiftstranslating insights into actionable recommendations and securing high-impact placements. Demonstrate a proactive approach to securing high-impactmedia coverage through both established relationships and creative outreach. Bring unexpected culturally relevant ideas to the table to keep clients ahead of the curve.
  • Strategic & Independent Thinking:Analyze challenges develop solutions and bring strategic ideas to the table.
  • Leadership & TeamDevelopment:Manage andmentor junior teammembers providing hands-on coaching and fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Lead by example; set and upholdhigh standardsfor quality accountability and collaboration. Drive continued collaboration across leadership bench to ensure alignment fromall parties.
  • Professional Excellence:Work with clients who are exceptionally knowledgeable and discerning about earnedmedia requiring you tooperateat the very top of your game.   • Executive Presence:Demonstratesconfidence poise and credibility in all interactionsboth internally and with clients. Communicates complex ideas clearly and succinctly adaptsmessaging for senior audiences and effectivelymanages high-stakes inmeetings inspires trust and is comfortablerepresentingthe teamto executives and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Aminimumof 10 years of demonstrably significant and successful experience in creating and leading impactful comprehensive consumermarketing campaigns that integrate allfacetsof themarketing and communicationsmix. Agency experience isamustand in-house experience particularly in afast-paceenvironment is a plus. Knowledge of lifestyle and entertainmentmedia isamust with travel and diningmedia a plus.
  • Experience leading andmanagingall aspects of launches includingmessagingmaterials creation earned outreach and overseeing others to drive programs to conclusion.
  • Advanced knowledge ofbrandmarketingmedia relations and well-developed skills in building andmaintainingtraditional and digitalmedia relationships. A demonstrated hands-onmedia approach isrequired.
  • Strong strategic thinker with an ability to lead the development of programs for clients and the office that are distinctive relevant creative andmeasurable.
