Payroll Officer

Payroll officer is responsible for performing the end-to-end payroll process in addition to other payroll related functions.

This role will need to ensure the accuracy and on time delivery of payroll operations and provide support to all TMHA employees in relation to pay related matters.

The role is primarily responsible for:

• Coordinate administer and maintain all aspects of the payroll system for TMHA including but not limited to the preparation and processing of payroll and maintenance of payroll data.
• In conjunction with the Senior Payroll Officer provide expert advice to TMHA Managers and Supervisors on payroll related matters and other relevant terms and conditions.
• In conjunction with Senior Payroll Officer administer TMHA payments in accordance with relevant legislation and applicable industrial instruments.
• On request preparation of payroll reports including time and attendance reports for system user.
• Provide ongoing operational support to the Senior Payroll Officer in all matters relating to payroll function.
• Process Workers Compensation payments and administer and submit wage reimbursements.
• Process Superannuation Centrelink Child Support and other external payment related transactions.
• Provide prompt and accurate response to all employee related enquiries.
• Ensure the regular maintenance of personnel files and new starters.
• Perform payroll responsibilities and duties in accordance with TMHA policies and procedures within the prescribed legal framework.
• Reconciliation and completion of payroll year end in conjunction with the Senior Payroll Officer.
• Holds a responsibility to support and maintain the full functionality of the payroll processing function.
• When required and in the absence of the Senior Payroll Officer you will be required to co-ordinate and administer all aspects of payroll for TMHA including preparation and processing of payroll data using the time and attendance
• Conduct weekly monthly quarterly and yearly internal payroll Compliance Audits
• In conjunction with the Senior Payroll Officer perform regular wage audits to ensure the accuracy of the payroll against TMHA conditions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years experience in full function payroll environment
• Proven experience in using Micropay highly desired.
• Strong background in payroll
• Proven ability to interpret and understand legislation and industrial instruments

• Great attention to detail and solid understanding of mathematics.
• High degree of professionalism confidentiality and discretion
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer literacy skills and ability to adapt to new systems and processes

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and MS Excel

This is a salaried position and salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience.
