Job Summary

A picturesque and welcoming secondary school in Gloucestershire is seeking a dedicated SENCO to lead and develop its SEND provision from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for inclusive education to play a key role in ensuring all students receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

About the role

The successful candidate will oversee the schools SEND provision and work closely with staff students and families to ensure effective support for students with additional needs.

The role will involve:

  • Leading and managing the schools SEND provision

  • Coordinating EHCPs support plans and targeted interventions

  • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to improve outcomes

  • Supporting staff in delivering inclusive teaching practices

  • Liaising with parents external professionals and local authorities

  • Ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and safeguarding requirements

You will work closely with senior leaders and pastoral teams to ensure the school maintains a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete

  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive education

  • Experience coordinating interventions and supporting students with additional needs

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
