Job Title: Drone Pilot & Geospatial IT Specialist
Department: Engineering / Survey / Construction Operations
Reporting To: Head of Department
Location: Project Sites (Nationwide)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Qualification: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Geomatics GIS Surveying Civil Engineering Environmental Science Geosciences or a related field.

Experience: 2 5 years of experience in drone operations geospatial mapping or construction surveying.

Job Objective:

The role is responsible for supporting infrastructure and construction projects through professional drone operations geospatial data collection remote sensing and GIS-based analysis. The position contributes to accurate aerial surveys mapping monitoring and geospatial data processing to assist engineering design project supervision and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Drone Operations & Mission Planning

Operate RTK-enabled drones to conduct surveying mapping inspection and construction monitoring activities.
Perform preliminary reconnaissance of project areas prior to flight operations.
Complete pre-flight inspections safety checks and risk assessments before each mission.
Plan and execute drone missions considering weather conditions airspace restrictions and site-specific risks.
Carry out both automated and manual flight operations based on project requirements.
Monitor construction progress and site activities using aerial drone technology.

2. Surveying & Mapping

Conduct drone-based topographical surveys and mapping for construction projects.
Capture high-resolution aerial imagery for engineering planning and environmental evaluation.
Support volumetric analysis terrain modelling and project progress tracking.
Assist in land measurement and maintain accurate geospatial records.

3. Geospatial Data Processing & Analysis

Process drone-generated data using GIS and photogrammetry software tools.
Produce orthomosaic maps 3D models digital elevation models (DEM) and contour maps.
Maintain accuracy and reliability of geospatial data used in engineering applications.

4. Remote Sensing & Technical Support

Utilize remote sensing techniques to evaluate terrain characteristics and environmental conditions.
Provide technical insights and geospatial support to engineers surveyors and environmental specialists.
Prepare analytical reports and presentations based on processed geospatial data.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to national drone operation regulations and aviation guidelines.
Implement quality control measures and data validation processes.
Follow company health safety and environmental (HSE) standards during field operations.

Requirements:

Ability to maintain structured geospatial databases and digital documentation.
Hands-on experience operating RTK drones is mandatory.
Prior exposure to construction infrastructure or engineering projects is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

Understanding of drone regulations flight planning and airspace compliance.
Proficiency in GIS and photogrammetry software such as ArcGIS QGIS Pix4D Agisoft Metashape and DroneDeploy.
Knowledge of geospatial data processing and mapping techniques.
Ability to interpret aerial imagery for engineering and construction purposes.
Familiarity with construction site processes and workflows.
