Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Director of Player Personnel Football position. Located in Providence Rhode Island and a member of the Ivy League our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).
The Director of Player Personnel serves as a key administrative leader for the Brown University Football program. Reporting directly to the Head Football Coach this position is responsible for the strategic management of the roster and the execution of a comprehensive recruiting operation. As the leader of all off-field football staff including Director of Football Operations Director of Player Development and Coordinator of Football Operations this role bridges the gap between coaching strategy and administrative execution ensuring the program identifies and attracts high-caliber student-athletes who can thrive within Browns rigorous academic environment and the competitive landscape of the Ivy League.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelors Degree required (Masters Degree preferred).
Experience: 35 years of experience in collegiate football operations recruiting or player personnel. Experience within an Ivy League or NCAA Division 1 environment is highly preferred.
Compliance: Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I recruiting rules and the ability to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in football-specific software (DV Sport Hudl Catapult) and recruiting databases (ARMS).
Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders including PSAs parents high school coaches and university administrators.
Job Competencies
Creative Project Management: Proven ability to manage a content and evaluative calendar and meet strict deadlines during the fast-paced recruiting cycle.
Social Media Fluency: Expert-level understanding of social media algorithms trends and content creation tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite Canva).
Communication Mastery: Ability to write persuasive professional and culturally relevant copy for a diverse audience of student-athletes and their families.
All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the compliance office and appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
