We are looking for a new member to join our close-knit team based out of the Waterbury State Office Complex. While this position is based in Waterbury there is the opportunity for a hybrid (in office/remote) schedule; some travel mostly in state may be required.

The DCF Grants and Contracts Unit comprises twenty-one staff working closely with internal and external partners to support DCFs initiatives. This position should have an understanding of the life cycle of an agreement which may include a grant contract memorandum of understanding and statement of work for example. It is anticipated that this position will have a primary focus on supporting agreement drafting monitoring and/or compliance efforts across the Department. Great attention to detail an understanding of financial reconciliation and budgeting strength-based customer service excellent written and oral communication skills proven ability to work independently and juggle competing demands flexibility and a willingness to learn are some key qualifications for this position. Experience with and/or working knowledge of Uniform Guidance the Agency of Administrations Bulletins 3.5 and 5 quality control and assurance audits agreement drafting or development of detailed scopes of work and programs and services of the Department for Children and Families a plus!

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office environment as well as in the field for which private means of transportation must be available. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary. Considerable tact and diplomacy will be required for effective performance. Extensive interaction with a broad range of community groups service providers advocacy groups and other state and federal agencies will occur. Stress may be encountered from deadlines and from operating in a highly publicized and public setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher AND two (2) years of work experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.

Four (4) years of experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.
