Whatyoullbedoing
Global Operational Risk Management (GORM) provides oversight of CIBCs operational risk exposures through the Operational Risk Management and Control Frameworks including risks related to:Business Interruption Data Financial Reporting Information Security LegalPhysical Security People PrivacyProductProject Regulatory Compliance Third Parties TechnologyTheftFraudandProcess and Execution. The Senior Manager Operational Risk Management reports to the Senior Director Operational Risk Management and provides independent challenge and proactive oversight and assessment of operational risk issues within the assigned lines of business. Assecondline of defense youare responsible forall aspects of operational risk management and control framework requirements including the identification measurement managementmonitoringand control of operational risk.
In this capacity the Senior Manager will build partnership with the Retail Commercial Wealth Management and Capital Markets LOBs within CAO as well as Contact Centres to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to managing risk.

Independent Challenge/Risk Management As an individual contributor you willleveragea risk-based approach to review operational incidents change initiatives deficiencies and controls and risk & control self-assessmentsand perform effective challenge. As a second line of defense for the management of operational risk you will perform independent assessment of business line activities using operational tools and processes.
Collaboration You willleverageyourstrong communication interpersonalskillsand teamwork to build and sustain strong internal relationships where you are viewed as a valued partner that offers sound guidance anddemonstratesa deep understanding of their environment and context.
Communicate Effectively Youdemonstrateclarity of thought in both written and verbal communications. You willfacilitateproductive risk discussions and outcomes and will develop and deliver strong reporting contentpresentationsand assessment summaries on an ongoing basis for senior audiences and risk committees.
Proactive oversight and assessment You will review operational practices risk assessments controlsdeficienciesand other relevant information to form an independent view of operational risks. You willidentifymaterial and emerging risks through proactive risk reviews andmonitoring ofKey Risk Indicators and External Events. You will effectively communicate areas or concern to ensureappropriate riskmitigation actions are taken.
Facilitate InnovationSupport change and the maintenance of effective Operational Risk programs that allowsCIBC to fulfill its purpose-driven mission. This will includenew ideasthatsupportsCIBCs goal of an effectiveefficientand radically simple Operational Risk and Control program.
Whoyouare
You candemonstrateexperience inoperational risk or have and have a broad understanding across back-office operations within financial services.
Itsan asset ifyoupossessexperience in operations roles client experience project delivery processengineering business analysis and/or comparable educational experience
