Position Summary

Responsible for building and facilitating the Food Lion omni-channel commercial planning process inclusive of all Center Store and Fresh categories in order to deliver sales grow targets. Leads the collaboration with Category Pricing Marketing Ecommerce ADUSA and Retail Operations in support of sales development supplier relations thematic planning and the development of the commercial planning process. Accelerates learning and creates inspiration through the development and distribution of Merchandising communication.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee development communication and execution of Food Lion strategic business plan and merchandising strategy using promotional tactics and development of ad flyers to achieve sales growth targets.
  • Responsible for the Food Lion omni-channel commercial plan inclusive of all Center Store and Fresh categories with the ultimate intent of delivering sales growth targets.
  • Working across Brands with counterparts and the ADUSA Commercial team to develop and align on ADUSA Commercial scale events.
  • Merchandising leads to the creation maintenance and use of the Integrated Business Plan (including Shopper & Earn events and promotions in collaboration with Category Pricing and Marketing and shared services in support of Food Lion strategy)
  • Responsible for allocating ad flyers and onsite space to categories based on strategic priorities and category roles.
  • Development of department/category specific merchandising promotions in collaboration with Category and Marketing.
  • Lead the ad development/creation process for Center Store and Fresh promotions.
  • Leads Food Lions Sampling program serving as the contact for Product Connections our 3rd Party sampling company. Oversee the development communication and execution of Sampling events at Retail. Responsible for the access equipment and interface of the internal Product Connection 3rd party associates and tracking of related vendor allowances.
  • Leads the Food Lion Bulk Order Process across CMP for both Center Store and Fresh items. Facilitates cross-functional execution of bulk orders through Logistics Procurement SCC Customer Relations and Retail to ensure orders are delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for training all Fresh and Center Store associates on the Omni Channel Commercial Planning process for CMP business partners and new associates.
  • Responsible for managing access and reports to through SharePoint Microsoft Flows and Power Automate
  • Lead efforts across category pricing marketing and retail operations to develop and execute thematic plans for the brand.
  • Responsible for providing inspiration and guidance that will evolve brand focus category growth leveraging promotional advertising and merchandising tactics.
  • Provide leadership that will motivate employees and function as an effective promoter of change and growth.
  • Responsible for the development talent planning and performance management of associates.
  • Provide support for the implementation of continuous improvement of culture.
  • Lead and/or serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in retail merchandising category pricing logistics supply chain procurement and distribution
  • 3 years of retail operations leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of Category Management pricing and marketing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with organizational change management
  • Project Management experience
  • Education
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) preferred.

Experience

  • Strong financial planning and budgeting experience
  • Cross-functional leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated management expertise.
  • Demonstrated relationship management experience with vendors brokers and third-party consultants.
  • Seasoned level of knowledge for company business and industry practices
