As Senior Tax Manager you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory work while supporting junior team members and working closely with partners on specialist projects. This is a key role within the tax team offering both technical depth and leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Technical Delivery
Prepare tax returns for individuals and partnerships
Prepare ERS and EMI returns
Prepare P11D forms and PSA calculations
Support clients with capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
Deal with HMRC enquiries and client queries
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all compliance work
Tax Advisory and Planning
Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients
Assist partners with specialist tax consultancy projects
Provide advisory support across a range of tax areas
Translate complex tax issues into clear understandable advice
Client Management
Act as a key point of contact for a portfolio of tax clients
Build and maintain strong long term client relationships
Support the development of new business opportunities
Provide a high level of client service and responsiveness
Team Management
Manage workflow and support junior team members
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide feedback
Mentor and develop less experienced members of the team
Contribute to the overall development of the tax department
Portfolio and Delivery Management
Manage your own workload and deadlines effectively
Ensure high standards of accuracy and technical quality
Work collaboratively with partners and wider team members
Support efficient delivery across compliance and advisory work
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
At least 3 years experience in a tax role within an accountancy practice
CTA qualified or qualified by experience other qualifications considered
Strong technical knowledge across a range of tax areas
Experience in both compliance and advisory work
Excellent client relationship and communication skills
Ability to explain complex tax matters in plain English
Strong IT skills including intermediate Excel
Experience with CCH would be an advantage
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
At least 3 years experience in a tax role within an accountancy practice CTA qualified
