Job Summary

The Reporters Committees development team offers a full-time summer internship for college students and recent graduates. The development intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff across the organization (legal policy communications and operations) while researching potential funding sources shaping concepts for potential donors and advancing the Reporters Committees mission to defend journalists and the First Amendment. 

Interns will participate in donor prospect research drafting and editing concepts for potential donors staffing fundraising and outreach events and other critical development operations in a small and easily accessible team. Interns will also have opportunities to interact with and learn about free press issues from the Reporters Committees legal policy and communications experts attend all staff meetings and social activities and learn about the workings of a development office in a vibrant and rapidly growing national nonprofit organization. 

Successful candidates will be detail-oriented have a strong writing background and be interested in expanding their knowledge about U.S. press freedom and media law issues. An academic or career interest in nonprofit management journalism or law is especially welcome.
