Role Title:

E&P Lead Construction Engineer

Role Purpose:

The E&P Lead Construction Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership construction oversight and engineering governance for allElectrification & Plant (E&P) construction activities across assigned rail infrastructure projects. The role ensures that engineering solutions are safe compliant costeffective and delivered to programm while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supporting bid design and delivery phases.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Governance
Act as thetechnical authorityfor E&P construction providing guidance on standards best practices and constructability.
Review and approve engineering designs method statements and construction documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. Network Rail BS/EN standards).
Lead constructability reviews and hazard identification (HAZID) activities.
2. Construction Delivery Oversight
Oversee E&P construction activities on-site including LV/HV power lighting points heating distribution systems cabling routes and trackside equipment.
Ensure safe systems of work and operational readiness are embedded in all work packages.
Manage construction quality assurance ensuring inspections test plans (ITPs) and handover documentation are completed to standard.
3. Planning & Programme Management
Develop construction methodologies logistics plans and phasing strategies.
Input into project delivery programmes identifying resource needs access constraints and interfaces with other disciplines (S&T Civils OLE etc.).
Monitor construction progress risks and issues escalating where necessary.
4. Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary construction engineering contact for internal teams clients (e.g. Network Rail) suppliers and subcontractors.
Support collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams to drive integrated solutions and efficient delivery.
Attend design reviews client meetings and site forums as required.
5. Commercial & Bid Support
Supportpricing estimating and bid preparationfor new E&P opportunities including in Ireland and mainland UK.
Provide engineering input into cost build-ups delivery strategies and technical proposals.
Identify value engineering opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
6. Safety Compliance & Assurance
Ensure all E&P works are delivered in accordance with CDM Regulations railway safety standards and project-specific requirements.
Lead or support incident investigations close out corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain high standards of SHEQ across all construction activities.
