About the Role
As the Caretaker you will be responsible for the general maintenance security and smooth operation of the school site. This is a hands-on varied role that requires a proactive approach excellent organisational skills and the ability to respond quickly to issues as they arise.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring the school premises are safe clean and well-maintained
Carrying out minor repairs maintenance and preventative checks
Managing security of the school site including locking/unlocking buildings and monitoring access
Assisting with setting up rooms and facilities for school events meetings and extra-curricular activities
Liaising with external contractors and suppliers for maintenance repairs and safety inspections
Monitoring health and safety compliance reporting risks and maintaining records
Supporting the school during events trips and emergency situations
Ensuring outdoor areas grounds and communal spaces are tidy and safe
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in caretaking maintenance or facilities management
Be practical proactive and able to work independently
Possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety procedures
Be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with staff and visitors
Be flexible and able to respond quickly to site issues
Experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided where necessary.
