We are looking for a Maintenance Purchasing and Inventory Specialist to help us out in our Wauwatosa Warehouse.
The Maintenance Purchasing and Inventory Specialistis responsible for ensuring maintenance parts availability cost control and inventory accuracy within a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the Maintenance Management System (Fiix) inventory data manages procurement and supplier relationships and ensures parts meet operational safety and regulatory standards. The position directly supports equipment uptime and maintenance department efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and complete part records in Fiix including pricing vendor data specifications lead times and Min/Max levels.
- Establish and manage Min/Max quantities based on usage trends equipment criticality and supplier lead times.
- Conduct routine cycle counts and audits to ensure physical-to-system inventory accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory valuation.
- Standardize and optimize part records to improve technician efficiency and reporting reliability.
- Order stock parts and consumables according to established inventory controls.
- Source emergency and specialty parts to prevent production downtime.
- Research alternate suppliers and cost-saving substitutions while ensuring technical and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate pricing and coordinate onsite supplier meetings when appropriate.
- Establish purchasing accounts and payment methods with new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance including pricing quality and delivery reliability.
- Provide regular updates to the Production Maintenance Manager regarding inventory risks open orders and budget impact.
- Collaborate with Quality Control Safety and Production to ensure all procurement and inventory activities comply with FDA regulations GMP standards and company safety policies.
- Research and vet local fabricators for custom components and repair services.
- Support equipment standardization and upgrade initiatives.
- Receive and accurately inspect label and store maintenance shipments and used parts prior to entry/re-entry into inventory.
- Manage outbound shipping needs.
- Maintain organized and accessible storage systems to support technician productivity.
- Maintain documentation consistent with audit and traceability requirements.
- Prioritize safety and report hazards or compliance concerns.
Qualifications
- Experience with CMMS systems (Fiix preferred).
- Experience managing maintenance inventory and procurement in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a production-driven setting.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and access storage at varying heights.
Hours: MondayFriday6am-2pm with flexibility to work other hours when department needs arise. (Saturday rotations when needed) Starting pay: $19.25 an hour based on experience. Interested Apply online or contact Lexi at with any questions.
