Position Overview The Benefits and Eligibility Specialist (Adjudicator) is responsible for reviewing and processing applications for public assistance programs. The role involves interviewing applicants verifying documentation evaluating eligibility and ensuring accuracy and compliance with state guidelines. This position requires strong customer service skills attention to detail and the ability to work onsite throughout training and assignment.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct interactive interviews with applicants to gather necessary eligibility information.
- Review and verify application forms for accuracy completeness and compliance.
- Determine eligibility for a variety of public assistance programs.
- Perform fact gathering documentation and follow up with applicants as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and case notes within required systems.
- Communicate professionally with applicants recipients and internal staff.
- Attend 7 weeks of in person training and apply learned program knowledge in case adjudication.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of customer service experience (call center public service or client facing experience preferred).
- Ability to work onsite daily and maintain reliable transportation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to start March 30 2026 and comply with onboarding requirements.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience performing eligibility reviews or working with public assistance programs.
- Prior experience in case management or government agency environments.
Additional Requirements - Background check and drug screening must be completed through HireRight.
- Candidates must be local at the time of submission and available for in person interviews within 1 week of posting close.
- Must be able to begin work within 2 weeks of receiving an offer.
- Onsite work only; no remote options available.
Notes - Training is approximately 7 weeks onsite only.
- Contractors may be considered for full time conversion after training (conversion fee capped by agency).
- Start date depends on interviews successful onboarding and PO issuance by the agency.
