Job Summary

We are looking for a Unix Systems Engineer AIX & Solaris - This position is open only to candidates based in Latin America.

Company is seeking an experienced Unix Systems Engineer to provide operational support for AIX and Solaris environments within a large-scale managed services engagement supporting data center infrastructure.

Responsabilities

This role is responsible for 24x7 monitoring patching and operational management of IBM Power (AIX) and Oracle Solaris platforms across approximately 190 systems including LPAR management via IBM HMC and VIO.
The engineer will review and implement vendor-recommended updates and critical security patches through established change control processes configure and maintain monitoring and alerting policies manage ITSM-based ticket creation and escalation workflows and troubleshoot hardware performance filesystem (NFS/CIFS) and OS-level issues.
The role also includes coordinating vendor engagements for break/fix situations logging and managing problem tickets with IBM and Oracle and applying hotfixes as part of problem resolution.

Required Qualifications

5 years of hands-on experience administering AIX and Solaris in enterprise data center environments
Strong working knowledge of IBM HMC VIO and Power hardware and familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes including incident change and problem management.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms is required.
The candidate must be comfortable operating within a RACI-driven support model where Provider holds responsibility for infrastructure operations while the customer retains ownership of licensing application layers and security functions.

English proficiency: B2 or higher
