Research Engineer II position within the Rula School of Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Construction Materials - Asphalt pavements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform research on construction materials where most of the work is related to asphalt addition to asphalt pavements some amount of work might be needed for existing projects within the School where data analysis organization or other fundamental research skills are needed. Specific duties to perform include review of literature laboratory experiments (including possible oversight of undergraduate student workers) field experiments data handling data analysis journal article writing and sponsor report writing. A significant amount of writing is expected. The ideal candidate would have measurable experience with test standards and/or specifications for asphalt pavements where their work has or could lead to new or improved test methods or standards. The ability to work on longer term projects that are ongoing is also desirable. The ideal candidate would also have measurable experience with long term aging of asphalt pavements and with pavement seal treatments.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in engineering or computer science with two years professional experience in a related area; requires two years at previous level or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful candidates will ideally have an earned B.S. and Masters in civil engineering from an institution offering ABET-accredited (or equivalent) degrees.
Preference will be given to a candidate with a Ph.D. in civil engineering from an institution offering ABET-accredited (or equivalent) degrees.
