Job Summary
Job Summary - As an Engineering Manager you will lead a team of strong engineers to build scalable high-performance systems that power JioStars advertising capabilities - from ad delivery and targeting to measurement and optimization. Youll be responsible for setting technical direction driving architectural decisions and ensuring engineering excellence while closely collaborating with Product Data and Business teams. Your role will require balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution while fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture. This is a high-ownership role for leaders who thrive on solving complex system problems.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product and Data teams to define technical strategy and drive measurable business outcomes
- Guide technical architecture discussions help unblock complex problems and ensure system scalability resilience and cost-efficiency
- Build and nurture a high-performing team through mentorship hiring feedback and career development
- Establish and manage team processes for planning execution and continuous improvement
- Represent the team in leadership forums contributing to broader organizational direction and tech strategy
- Lead by example through code/design reviews and technical guidance when required
Skills & Attributes for success:
- Hands-on experience with backend systems using Java Golang or Python
- Strong understanding of distributed systems microservices and event-driven architecture
- Familiarity with high-scale databases (MySQL Redis Cassandra DynamoDB) and streaming/message queues (Kafka)
- Production experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)Track record of delivering cross-functional projects and growing engineering talent
Preferred education & qualification:
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field
- 9 years of experience in software development with 3 years in people management
- Worked in high-scale environments and understand the nuances of latency cost and reliability in real-time systems
