About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Project Manager to lead and manage a complex SAP S/4HANA Upgrade Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP project delivery deep understanding of SAP technical landscapes and proven experience managing full lifecycle SAP upgrades technical migrations and transformation programs.
This role requires exceptional leadership planning stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multi-functional teams across business technical BASIS infrastructure testing and SI partner streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Project Leadership
Lead the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Technical Upgrade Program including planning mobilization execution cutover and stabilization.
Define program structure governance model workstreams milestones risks and dependencies.
Drive project delivery across SAP Basis Integration Functional Security Infrastructure and Testing teams.
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture IT strategy and business objectives.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Engage and manage senior business stakeholders IT leadership external system integrators and technical partners.
Conduct steering committee updates project status reporting and executive briefings.
Ensure vendor adherence to scope timelines SLAs and quality expectations.
Technical Oversight
Understand SAP technical components: SAP S/4HANA conversion SUM/DMO Fiori enablement database upgrades integrations and cloud/on-prem infrastructure.
Oversee environment strategy (DEV QA PRE-PROD PROD) transport management and cutover planning.
Ensure compliance with SAP best practices for technical upgrades and system readiness.
Risk Issue & Quality Management
Proactively identify program risks technical challenges and dependencies.
Implement mitigation plans governance checkpoints and quality assurance processes.
Drive performance testing regression testing technical validation and readiness assessments.
Budget & Resource Management
Manage program budget forecasting procurement and resource allocations.
Lead cross-functional and distributed teams ensuring effective collaboration and delivery.
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience
18 - 20 years of overall IT/SAP experience.
Minimum 12 years in SAP program/project management roles.
Proven experience delivering at least 23 SAP technical upgrade programs ideally S/4HANA.
Experience with SAP ECC to S/4 conversion technical migrations OS/DB upgrades cloud adoption and SAP infrastructure programs.
Technical Competencies
Strong understanding of SAP architecture BASIS operations integrations (PI/PO/CPI) data migration and security.
Familiarity with SUM/DMO tools S/4HANA readiness checks Fiori activation and technical remediation processes.
Understanding of performance tuning interface validations regression strategy and cutover execution.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Executive-level communication and presentation capability.
Strong vendor/partner management experience.
Ability to manage complex multi-stream transformation programs.
Excellent planning risk management and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile PM certification.
SAP Activate methodology experience.
Experience with SAP projects in utilities public sector retail or regulated industries (optional based on client).
