Project Scheduler Design & EPCM Projects
Location: Yamagata Japan (Onsite)
Contract: 12-month renewable contract Start ASAP
Language Requirement: Fluent Japanese (non-negotiable)
We are looking for an experienced Project Scheduler to join a dynamic engineering and construction
team supporting large-scale design-build and EPCM projects in Japan.
Role Overview
As the Project Scheduler you will develop maintain and analyse critical path schedules for multiple
project phases including design construction procurement and commissioning. You will provide
expert-level schedule insights progress reporting and mentorship to junior scheduling staff
ensuring project timelines are accurate transparent and compliant with corporate and contractual
standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop CPM schedules for complex Design-Build and EPCM projects using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Facilitate interactive planning sessions and Last Planner System (LPS) activities with project teams
- Build WBS identify milestones KPIs and progressively add detailed scheduling information
- Review and integrate vendor and subcontractor schedules into master project schedules
- Create customized schedule reports to meet project-specific needs
- Update schedules evaluate performance report variances and assist in mitigation planning
- Perform critical path float path and schedule slip analyses to proactively manage risks
- Objectively report schedule health progress risks and opportunities to leadership
- Mentor and coach junior scheduling staff to enhance scheduling capability within the team
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and contractual scheduling requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering or a related field
- 10 years industry experience including 5 years in project scheduling
- Expert in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Experience scheduling $100M multi-phase capital projects (design procurement construction commissioning)
- Experience leading interactive pull-planning and LPS sessions
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior scheduling staff
- Excellent verbal written and graphical communication skills
- Fluent Japanese (non-negotiable)
