Role Overview:

As a Machine Build Assistant youll work closely with Machine Builders to assemble machinery prepare materials and help ensure projects meet cost quality and timing expectations. Youll gain hands-on experience operating shop equipment while maintaining documentation communicating progress and keeping a clean organized workspace. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

How Youll Make an Impact:

Assist Machine Builder(s) with the assembly of equipment.
Ensure that changes and problems get documented and communicated.
Carry out assigned tasks with minimum direct supervision.
Assist the Machine Builder(s) with the execution of ISOQuality standards.
Communicate with the Machine Builder(s) on open issues and progress during the build process.
Assist the Machine Builder(s) with the successful execution of assigned programs as they relate to cost quality timing and customer satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.
Assist with preparing material for secondary processes (material finishing heat treat and deburring).
Learn to effectively and safely operate:
- Mill
- Drill Press
- Sanders
- Saws

What Youll Bring:

Basic computer skills.
Basic proficiency reading part and assembly drawings preferred.
Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
Proven ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of a team or individually.
Ability to maintain a steady pace while bending kneeling climbing ladders and climbing onto and beneath machines.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo (Forklift) Aerial Platform and Overhead Crane license along with Lock Out Tag Out training while employed at JR.
Travel at least 20% of the time may be required. This may include domestic and international travel depending on the project.
