About this role

We are seeking a Team Lead Software Engineering to lead a Gateway engineering team based in Gurgaon within the Client Experience Platform (CXP) organization. This is a handson leadership role combining strong technical ownership people leadership and delivery accountability with close collaboration across global teams.

The Gateway platform is a critical clientfacing entry point to Aladdin enabling secure access across web mobile and API channels. The Team Lead is responsible for local execution system health and team effectiveness while contributing directly to architecture and production code.

Key Responsibilities

Own technical execution and system health for Gateway services delivered by the Gurgaon team
Design and build backend services using Java 17 Spring Boot and REST APIs
Remain handson through coding design reviews and architectural decisionmaking
Ensure reliability performance security observability and production readiness
Lead and coach Gurgaonbased engineers supporting growth and promotion readiness
Partner with Product UX Operations and Platform teams across India EMEA and the US
Collaborate with peer engineering leads to align standards patterns and integrations
Champion adoption of AIpowered engineering tools (GitHub Copilot Windsurf Speckit Playwright) to improve velocity and quality

Qualifications

8 years of backend engineering experience with Java Spring Boot and RESTful architectures
Strong fundamentals in objectoriented design distributed systems and enterprise integration
Handson experience with relational databases (SQL Server or MySQL) schema design and performance tuning
Demonstrated experience leading engineers or acting as a senior technical lead
Strong coding skills with a desire to stay close to the technology
Clear communicator comfortable working in a global crosstimezone environment

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Docker Kubernetes and cloudnative environments
Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana Prometheus or OpenTelemetry
Interest in AIassisted development prompt engineering or agentic tooling
Background in institutional client platforms or largescale enterprise systems
