Job Summary
Structural Designer/Drafter with excellent drafting skills and a strong understanding of electrical design fundamentals to support Power Transmission & Distribution Renewable Energy BESS and Data Center projects across the United States. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in drafting able to accurately interpret engineering markups and capable of completing design tasks with minimal direction from engineers.
- Support highvoltage substations renewable energy developments (utilityscale PV solar wind and BESS) data centers and interconnection substations from initial design to completion.
- Independently perform structural drafting and design tasks by interpreting sketches redlines and markups with minimal supervision.
- Develop revise draft and maintain structural drawings including:
- Structural Steel plans sections and details.
- Prepare fabrication level drawings using AutoCAD 3D Revit or Tekla
- Prepare reinforced concrete foundation plans sections and details
- Create revise and maintain CAD drafting blocks symbols templates and drawing standards including developing new blocks as required for projectspecific or clientspecific needs.
- Ensure drawings comply with company CAD standards client requirements and project specifications.
- Perform drafting administrative and document control tasks including:
- Plotting and printing drawings
- Creating and assembling PDF drawing sets
- Managing drawing revisions title blocks and transmittals
- Supporting file organization and electronic document management
- Produce accurate organized highquality drawing packages suitable for internal reviews client submittals and construction.
- Maintain drawing control revision histories and supporting project documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and work with engineers of multidisciplines (civil structural protection physical and controls).
- Provide drafting support across disciplines to ensure high quality consistency and schedule compliance.
Requirements
Education
- BTech degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering Technology from a reputable institution.
Experience
- 510 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in highvoltage substation detailed design and drafting is required.
- Experience supporting PV solar BESS interconnection facilities or data center power infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Previously working for Consulting engineering firms preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of structural steel and foundation design.
- Proven ability to independently complete drawings from engineer markups.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Familiarity with highvoltage substations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized detailoriented and quality focused.
