About the Role

We are seeking a Backend Platform Engineer with strong experience. If you enjoy solving complex challenges modernising legacy stacks and enabling scalable architectures this role is for you.

Tech Stack

• Backend: AWS Lambda API Gateway DynamoDB S3
  
• Frontend: React / React Native
  
• Programming Languages: TypeScript JavaScript Python Java
  
• Infrastructure: Terraform GitHub Actions / CI-CD Pipelines
  

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  
• Proven experience in backend development with strong exposure to AWS serverless technologies.
  
• Hands-on expertise in TypeScript and AWS Lambda.
  
• Solid understanding of API design server-side architecture and RESTful services.
  
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions or similar).
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive ownership-driven mindset.
  
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices and agile delivery methodologies.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain scalable secure and resilient backend services using and AWS Lambda.
  
• Lead or contribute to migration initiatives transitioning on-prem or legacy workloads to modern cloud environments.
  
• Implement and optimize serverless architectures leveraging AWS services (API Gateway DynamoDB S3 etc.).
  
• Write clean testable and efficient TypeScript/ code aligned with best practices.
  
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate backend APIs with modern frontend frameworks (React / React Native).
  
• Implement and maintain security monitoring and backup strategies.
  
• Drive automation and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) adoption using Terraform.
  
• Identify opportunities to modernize legacy systems and propose solutions aligned with cloud-first principles.
  
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and reliability.
  
• Foster a culture of learning ownership and innovation within the engineering team.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience in cloud migration projects particularly from on-prem to AWS or Azure.
  
• Hands-on expertise in TypeScript and AWS Lambda.
  
• Understanding of legacy tech stacks (Solaris systems MultiValue (MV) databases or equivalent).
  
• Willingness and curiosity to learn and work on non-traditional legacy systems as part of modernization efforts.
  
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  
• Start-up or product engineering experience where adaptability and initiative are key.
