Job Summary
Production Planning Team (PPT) within Amazon Japan Operations is seeking a Program Manager to lead strategic production planning initiatives across our nationwide network.
Amazons mission is to be Earths most customer-centric company and to offer the Earths widest selection. We continuously enhance the customer experience through selection price and convenience powered by data-driven decision-making and operational innovation.
Established in 2023 PPT is a strategic organization responsible for advancing production planning capabilities and network optimization across more than 100 Fulfillment Centers (FCs) and External Fulfillment (EF) sites in Japan.
As a Program Manager you will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of production planning across the FC/EF network. This role goes beyond short-term labor and capacity alignment; you will design scalable long-term mechanisms that optimize accuracy productivity and cost efficiency at network scale.
You will be expected to challenge existing processes constructively operate effectively in ambiguous environments and make data-driven decisions with high judgment. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability strategic thinking and the ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders to drive large-scale operational transformation.

Key job responsibilities
Important responsibilities of the program manager
Own the strategy and execution of labor optimization across the JP FC/EF network ensuring the right balance between cost efficiency and customer experience (CX) while driving sustainable improvements across short-term (3 months) mid-term (6 months) and long-term (13 years) horizons.
Design implement and continuously improve scalable labor cost management mechanisms that enable both operational network expansion and structural cost efficiency.
Lead the alignment of labor cost management practices with global standards while ensuring effective localization to meet the specific needs of Japan operations.
Identify evaluate and adapt global best practices to improve productivity planning accuracy and operational efficiency across the Japan FC/EF network.
Drive cross-regional collaboration to scale successful practices developed in Japan to other regions and contribute to the evolution of global planning standards.
Influence senior stakeholders across operations finance and global teams through data-driven insights enabling aligned decision-making and effective execution of strategic initiatives.

This position works as a member of the PPT(Production Planning Team) within Amazon Japans FNP team. Our team is in charge of a wide range of tasks from short to long-term ranges so that we can operate our ever-expanding Operation Network more efficiently and we are making improvements day by day so that we can deliver products with a rich selection of products sufficient inventory volume and quick delivery speed to our customers. - Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering Business Administration Operations Management Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field.
