About the Role
A leading international financial institution is seeking an Analyst to join its Structured & Project Finance team supporting transaction execution acrossrenewable energy infrastructure utilities data centres and resources.
The team plays a key role in financing Australias accelerating energy transition wherecapitalintensive renewable energy and storage projectsincreasingly rely on sophisticated debt structures and portfoliolevel financing platforms to reach financial close.
This is a handson executionfocused role within alean team offering immediate exposure to live transactions and meaningful analytical responsibility.
Team Context
- Small highperforming team working on complex structured debt and project finance transactions
- A senior leader manages client relationships; midlevel leads drive execution
- Junior team members are expected to produce highquality work quickly
- Hiring is selective with a strong emphasis on cultural fit and character
Key Responsibilities
1. Transaction Execution
- Build review and sensitiseproject finance and structured debt modelsacross wind solar storage transport utilities and data infrastructure.
- Support due diligence reviews including financial technical legal and market assessments.
- Contribute to transaction documentation review (term sheets finance documents project agreements).
- Assist in preparing internal materials including credit analyses and approval papers.
- Participate in lender discussions forlarge syndicated financings increasingly common as Australias renewable projects scale in size and capital intensity.
2. Portfolio and Credit Management
- Monitor performance of an active transaction portfolio through financial analysis compliance testing and market updates.
- Support periodic credit reviews and risk reporting.
3. Market & Sector Analysis
- Conduct research on renewable energy storage transmission upgrades and the broader energy transition reflecting increased investment and lender activity in largescale projects.
- Benchmark market assumptions such as price curves generation forecasts and curtailment risk.
Candidate Profile
1) Technical Background
- Experience from afinancial institution advisory firm Big 4 modelling/transactions team or related environment
- Exposure toproject finance infrastructure or structured debt is an advantage
- Ability to interpret financial models run sensitivity analysis and understand bankability drivers
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
2) Character & Behaviour (highest priority)
The team prioritises how a personthinksandbehavesover purely technical credentials.
They want someone who is:
- Mature calm thoughtful
- Able to work under pressure in a lean environment
- A good communicator with clear confident English
- Respectful reliable and lowego
- Curious proactive and collaborative
