Job Summary

Saint Stephens College is currently seeking an IT Support Technician that will be assisting in the day-to-day operations of theIT Department at the College. Providing the first level of help desk andtechnical support to staff students parents and guests. The support provided may be in person over the phone or via email and the person will work both within the IT office and around the campus amongst the Colleges facilities.

Working as part of a dynamic IT team the role involves daily troubleshooting of technical issues and triaging more complex matters to the appropriate IT team members to support timely resolution.

This is an entry level role that will be suited to somebody engaged in study within the IT field or an individual who is in a phase of their IT career where they are looking to focus on troubleshootingrelationship management and meaningful work that will enable students tothrive.

The position

  • Permanent part-time
  • 25 hours per week on the basis of 52 weeks per annum
  • Closing Date for applications 22 March 2026. The College reserves the right to shortlist and appoint prior to closing date. An extension to the closing date may also be applied at the Colleges discretion.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing user assistance to staff students parents and College guests (over the counter on-site telephone and email)
  • Handling written and verbal communications while logging all jobs through College Help Desk software and escalating jobs where needed.
  • With direction from the Director ICT overseeing various IT services including warranty logging laptop loan booking and printer consumables management
  • Overseeing the BYOD hardware setups/software installs and supporting staff and students with their password/Wi-Fi credential management
  • Demonstrating to users within the classroom in the computer lab while also providing general hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • As required assist the Director of ICT and the broader team with alarms PA system electronic keys CCTV and the physical and wireless network and monitoring the performance of the networks/systems to ensure the College is able to maintain business continuity.
  • Working in partnership with the technical team in the operation of the College Help Desk providing support to staff students and visitors

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or be actively working towards a relevant qualification.
  • Relevant experience in similar role with demonstrated ability to support users of a wired and wireless networks including the security of such networks
  • Experience in Microsoft environments (Active Directory Windows Server Hyper-V Azure Microsoft 365)
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and the sensitivity of data while problem-solving unique and isolated technical issues.
  • Experience in an independent school environment or a similar teaching and learning context.

Mandatory Clearances/Certifications

  • Blue Card in accordance with No Card No Start law as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid training)
