Senior Tour Consultant Nairobi

• Experience: 8 10 years of experience in tour operations or travel consultancy.

The Senior Tour Consultant is responsible for designing costing and managing customized travel itineraries for clients traveling to Kenya and East Africa. The role involves handling complex bookings including tailor-made safaris and multi-destination itineraries while providing exceptional client service from the initial inquiry through to trip completion.

The Senior Tour Consultant works closely with the Tours Team Lead and collaborates with other consultants operations and finance teams to ensure seamless travel experiences for clients.

• Develop personalized travel itineraries based on the clients interests travel schedule and budget.

• Manage complex travel bookings including customized safaris and itineraries across Kenya and East Africa.

• Prepare detailed and competitive quotations while ensuring company profitability.

• Respond quickly to client inquiries and work towards converting inquiries into confirmed bookings.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of destinations lodges hotels and safari experiences in East Africa.

• Suggest additional activities upgrades or experiences that can enhance the clients travel experience.

• Secure reservations with hotels lodges transport providers and other suppliers.

• Ensure all travel documents itineraries and booking confirmations are accurate and complete.

• Coordinate with the operations and finance departments to guarantee smooth travel arrangements.

• Handle itinerary changes special requests and last-minute modifications when necessary.

• Ensure all travel arrangements meet the clients expectations and company standards.

• Serve as the primary contact for clients from the first inquiry through to the completion of their trip.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients during every stage of the booking process.

• Address client questions concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Follow up with clients after their trip to collect feedback and encourage repeat business.

• Prepare quotations that remain competitive while maintaining the companys profit margins.

• Monitor supplier costs and adjust pricing where necessary.

• Ensure that all bookings contribute positively to company revenue.

• Negotiate with suppliers when needed to secure the best possible rates.

• Share destination knowledge and product updates with team members.

• Provide support and guidance to other consultants when required.

• Assist the Tours Team Lead during busy periods or when managing complex travel bookings.

• Contribute ideas to improve travel products and overall service quality.

• Strong knowledge of safari destinations in Kenya and East Africa.

• Proven experience in designing complex and customized travel itineraries.

• Excellent communication organization and customer service skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Wetu itinerary software.

• Strong itinerary planning and destination expertise

• Advanced costing and pricing abilities
