Must Haves:
- At least 5 years of experience in the Ontario home care health sector
- TOGAF Certification
- At least 10 years of experience in large scale software solution architecture
- A university degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Description
Background Information
- The purpose of this request is to acquire a Senior Solutions Architect contingent resource on the CHRIS team for 1 year with an optional extension of up to 1 year.
- This role will help support development of strategic and solutions architectures that support:
- Realizing the vision for the Enhancing HCC Digital Connectivity initiative
- Building the roadmap for home care supporting provincial services
- Modernizing the Client Health Related Information System (CHRIS) solutions architecture
- Decomposing the existing monolithic architectures into domain-specific services
- Outsourcing the appropriate services to external third-parties
- Implementing a robust highly scalable and resilient services platform
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of an architecture strategy for decomposing legacy monolithic systems into modular scalable services.
- Lead the strategic evolution towards a services-based environment
- Lead the build-vs-buy evaluation for targeted components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical roadmaps with business objectives and ensure seamless integration of services.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering teams guiding them through the modernization initiative and complex system designs.

- Experience with assessing proposed architectures for alignment to strategic goals and guidance
- Experience with integrating distributed systems
- Experience with defining standard messaging and service interfaces
3) Project Delivery - 25 Points
- Experience delivering large software projects
- Experience evolving as-is systems towards desired targets
- Experience integrating multiple systems using messaging or service interfaces
4) Architectural Governance & Leadership - 25 Points
- Experience creating and implementing architecture methods and frameworks
- Experience leading or participating in architecture review boards
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders
- Experience leading development teams
- Experience mentoring team members
Deliverables
- Deliverables Include but are not limited to:
- An architecture description of the existing monolith
- A home care capability-based decomposition of the existing monolith
- A build-vs-buy evaluation report for the decomposed target-state components
- A market analysis report of potential product/service providers
- A description of the overall strategic decomposition approach and an implementation plan for its realization
- Definition of solution application and integration architecture for the modernized services-based architecture and other associated documentation as required
Additional Terms
- Term: The term of this Engagement Assignment is 250 Business Days with an option to extend for up to an additional 250 days at the Agencys discretion. The Engagement Assignment may be extended for unused Business Days at the Agencys discretion.
- The resource will comply with the Agencys policies and procedures.
- The Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario and the Agencys assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario without prior written approval from the Agency.
- Assignment Type: This position is currently listed as Hybrid. The resource under this request will be required to work onsite as per Hiring Manager sole discretion.
