Job Summary
Radiation Therapist
Shift:Monday Friday/8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Location: Syracuse NY
Weekly Gross Range: $3200- $3600 (Based on experience)
Position Overview
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians while following national oncology care and safety standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge of radiation therapy equipment and the ability to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Education:Associate degree from an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program
- License:ActiveNew York State Radiation Therapist License
- Experience:35 years of related experience preferred
Preferred Experience
- TrueBeam
- CT Simulation (CT Sim)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions
- Interpret treatment plans and ensure accurate dose delivery
- Prepare and operate radiotherapy equipment including:
- Linear Accelerators
- Simulators
- Co-60 equipment
- Perform simulation procedures for tumor localization
- Capture imaging and radiographic films to verify treatment fields
- Document and maintain accurate patient treatment records
- Coordinate patient appointments and treatment schedules
- Monitor patients for radiation reactions and provide care instructions
- Ensure compliance with departmental safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Participate in departmental training and educational programs
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully passpre-employment health clearance
- Strong knowledge ofradiation safety standards
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and patient records
