Location: Phoenix AZ (Hybrid Local candidates only)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Rate: $85 $90 per hour (DOE)
Duration: 6 12 months (possible extension)

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure Engineer / Architect / Developer for a W2-only hybrid role based in Phoenix AZ. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end Azure experience able to architect solutions engineer cloud infrastructure and develop cloud-native applications. This person will work closely with security infrastructure DevOps development and product teams to deliver scalable secure and cost-optimized cloud solutions.

Candidates MUST be local to Phoenix AZ and able to work hybrid onsite as required by the project.

• Architect enterprise-grade Azure solutions across IaaS PaaS and serverless workloads.
• Design and implement landing zones network topology and Azure governance using best practices.
• Define scalable cloud architectures based on the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Lead design discussions build high-level and low-level architecture documents.

• Build and deploy Azure resources using Terraform or Bicep (IaC).
• Develop cloud-native services APIs and integrations using .NET or Python.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Implement and support AKS App Services Azure Functions APIM and event-driven components.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Implement secure designs using Azure RBAC Managed Identities Key Vault NSGs ASGs Private Endpoints Defender for Cloud.
• Enforce governance using Azure Policy Blueprints tagging standards and cost budgets.

• Configure observability using Azure Monitor Log Analytics Application Insights and diagnostic logs.
• Analyze and optimize cloud performance reliability and cost.
• Troubleshoot production issues across compute networking identity and application layers.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into cloud solutions.
• Create detailed architecture documents technical specs deployment guides and operational runbooks.
• Mentor team members and conduct design/code reviews.

• 7 12 years of overall IT experience with 5 years on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure architecture cloud engineering and cloud development.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Terraform or Bicep
  • Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions
  • AKS Functions App Services Service Bus Event Grid APIM
  • Azure SQL Cosmos DB Storage Key Vault
• Strong Azure networking: vNETs Private Link Azure Firewall ExpressRoute/VPN.
• Experience in building APIs or microservices using C# or Python.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and governance.
• Excellent communication and architecture documentation skills.
• Must be local to Phoenix and able to work hybrid.
• W2 only No C2C.

• Azure certifications: AZ 305 (Architect) AZ 400 (DevOps) AZ 104 AZ 204.
• Experience with Synapse Data Factory Databricks or Purview.
• Familiarity with FinOps cost governance and monitoring strategies.
• Experience with large-scale cloud migrations or modernization.
