Senior Associate / Junior Partner: Maritime & Energy Litigation
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced litigator to join the firms Maritime & Energy practice. This role is ideal for a Senior Associate or Junior Partner-level attorney who enjoys managing complex litigation and taking an active role in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
In this position you will work on a wide range of maritime energy and general casualty litigation matters from inception through resolution. You will play a key role in shaping litigation strategies leading motion practice and discovery and representing clients in hearings mediations arbitrations and trials.
The role offers significant responsibility close collaboration with seasoned trial attorneys and the opportunity to build strong relationships with a sophisticated client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage maritime energy and general casualty litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Lead motion practice discovery strategy depositions and overall case management
- Represent clients in hearings mediations arbitrations and trials where appropriate
- Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal guidance to clients
- Work directly with domestic and international clients including major insurers and underwriters
- Collaborate closely with experienced trial attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment
Qualifications:
- 5 years of substantial litigation experience
- Strong experience with motion practice discovery management and depositions
- Trial and courtroom experience preferred though not required
- Experience with maritime energy insurance defense or general casualty litigation is a plus
- Licensed to practice law in Louisiana
- Excellent legal research writing and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage matters independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
