Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Fiscal Operations is responsible for supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role works closely with Facility Operations the Finance team and Executive Leadership to provide actionable financial and operational insights. The Director ensures that departmental activities are aligned with organizational goals by preparing analytical reports tracking performance metrics and collaborating with teams to interpret financial data. This role also supports Executive Leadership and Board reporting by producing accurate concise and insightful summaries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Act as the liaison to Finance Facility Operations and other departments translating operational activity into measurable financial insights.
  • Work closely with teams to identify trends performance drivers and process improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a central point for departmental data analysis reporting and interpretation.

Financial & Operational Analytics

    • Track key operational metrics and generate actionable reports for leadership.
    • Perform detailed analyses of operational costs resource utilization and department-level performance.
    • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and support data-informed decision-making.
    • Support scenario modeling and forecasting related to operational activities.

    Executive & Board Reporting Support

      • Prepare and consolidate operational and financial reports for Executive Leadership and Board meetings.
      • Ensure clarity accuracy and relevance of information presented to non-financial audiences.
      • Collaborate with leadership to provide narrative insights explaining trends and performance.

      Systems & Data Management

        • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational and financial data across systems.
        • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
        • Support adoption and optimization of financial facilities and operational software tools.

        Support & Problem Solving

        • Provide day-to-day financial and analytical support to operational teams.
        • Assist in resolving operational or data discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.
        • Actively participate in cross-functional projects requiring financial insights.

        ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

        • Committed to the active promotion of the ICL values and goals.
        • Ability to coordinate multiple projects provide administrative functions interface with executive team.
        • Advanced Excel and analytical skills including data visualization.
        • Experience with ERP accounting or operational management systems (Blackbaud NetSuite Sage Intacct or similar).
        • Strong data management reporting project management and analytical problem-solving skills.
        • Strong communicator with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
        • Highly collaborative and detail oriented.
        • Comfortable working across departments and with executive leadership.
        • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
        • Ability to work in a team dynamic and independent environment.

        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

        Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Analytics or related field (MBA strongly preferred) plus 5-8 years of finance or operational analytics experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment. Experience with cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision-making.
