Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President Academic Technology & Campus Engagement this position leads academic technology and services for the Division of Information Resources & Technology. Leadership includes supervision of staff as well as planning execution documentation communication evaluation and continuous improvement of the resources and services offered by the Academic Technology department which includes both academic and classroom technologies. Planning is done in consultation with IRT senior leadership and campus stakeholders. The Academic Technology department collaborates with faculty staff and students to provide campus-wide support for IRT core services software platforms and classroom design and infrastructure that support strategic campus goals for teaching learning and student success. This position aligns the priorities of the team with the campus-wide strategic plan and divisional goals.
The position plays a leadership role in supporting academic technologies used to deliver face to face classroom online and hybrid courses at Sac State; this position also participates in requirements gathering and evaluations for new or replacement instructional and classroom tools. The position requires a strong pedagogical background to partner with faculty and ensure alignment between academic needs and technology. This position is responsible for engaging faculty staff and students in the adoption of tools that provide a good match for achieving their specific objectives.
This position has a significant role in professional development of faculty staff and students; leading a team of developers and consultants to create training modules and documentation on use of technologies used to deliver instruction. This position stays informed about emerging instructional software classroom design and pedagogical applications of technology to facilitate active learning. This position has technical expertise in areas such as learning management systems e-portfolios lecture capture classroom design and standards accessibility etc.
This position is involved in a variety of strategic student success initiatives to improve retention and time to degree at Sac State; this position helps make strategic technologies sustainable by offering support documentation and training to meet the needs of faculty staff and students. This position is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of resources and services and engaging in continuous improvement activities by gathering feedback from faculty staff and students.
This position has a strategic focus on supporting academic technology and CSU System Accessible Technology Initiatives (ATI) related projects and services offered by IRT. Additionally this position participates in system-level meetings and engages in collaboration with partners from across the CSU.
FLSA:Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range:$10000.00 per month -$11500.00 per month
Final salary determination will be based on relevant qualifications and professional experience.
