As part of the Product Engineering organization the Senior DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in building operating and continuously improving cloud platform capabilities that power highly available scalable services. This role directly supports a business-critical product that represents a significant portion of company revenue making reliability performance and operational excellence essential to organizational success.
We are seeking a hands-on senior engineer who thrives in production environments enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges and takes full ownership of platform reliability. The ideal candidate brings strong execution capability sound engineering judgment and a proactive mindset in driving automation and operational maturity.
This position requires shift-based work aligned with U.S. Pacific Time business hours and participation in an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design implement and automate components of large-scale distributed cloud infrastructure.
Build and enhance infrastructure-as-code frameworks CI/CD pipelines and operational tooling.
Improve system reliability scalability availability latency and overall performance.
Collaborate closely with platform SRE and product engineering teams to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
Monitor production and staging environments; proactively identify risks and implement preventive measures.
Lead incident response efforts perform deep debugging and drive root cause analysis for production issues.
Contribute to operational excellence initiatives improving key reliability metrics such as availability MTTD and MTTR.
Standardize and document architecture designs operational procedures and troubleshooting playbooks.
Drive automation and reduce manual operational overhead wherever possible.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in reliability engineering and DevOps culture.

Requirements

57 years of experience in Software Engineering DevOps Engineering or Production Operations.
3 years of hands-on experience managing production systems and troubleshooting complex distributed environments.
3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS GCP or OpenStack); hybrid or data center experience is a plus.
Strong hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible) and scripting (Python Bash or similar).
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes Helm and Docker.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals cloud architecture and distributed systems principles.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows (e.g. GitLab).
Working knowledge of databases and performance tuning concepts.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across application infrastructure and cloud layers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
