Job Summary
Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Houston TX
Duration: 3 Months
Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (Shift may vary)
Position Overview:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for simulating treatment set-ups performing dosimetric calculations administering prescribed radiation therapy treatments and assisting with overall patient care management. This role works collaboratively with physicians nurses and medical physicists to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery for patients diagnosed with cancer or other medical conditions requiring radiation therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Simulate and verify radiation treatment setups according to physician directives.
Perform basic dosimetric calculations as required.
Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments using LINAC equipment.
Calibrate operate and maintain radiation therapy machinery to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
Monitor patients during treatment and assess reactions or side effects.
Educate patients on treatment plans and address questions or concerns.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient treatment records.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience.
LINAC (Linear Accelerator) experience Required
ARRT Certification Required
BLS Certification (AHA) Required
