Barrs Pharmaceuticals a leader in SAHPRAregulated pharmaceutical manufacturing is seeking an experiencedMaintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance functions across our production operations. This is a critical leadership role ensuring equipment reliability facility integrity and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
About the Role
As the Maintenance Manager you will lead the maintenance function across all production units ensuring operational continuity compliance with GMP/GEP and optimal performance of production equipment utilities and facilities. You will manage a multidisciplinary team collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and play a key role in regulatory audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preventive predictive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment uptime.
- Ensure full compliance with SAHPRA GMP GEP and safety standards.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA to improve reliability.
- Manage utilities such as HVAC purified water steam compressed air and effluent systems.
- Enforce OHS standards conduct HIRA and ensure contractor safety.
- Lead mentor and upskill the maintenance team.
- Manage budgets spare parts and external service providers efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial or similar).
- 710 years maintenance experience within GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of GMP GEP ALCOA and regulatory audit expectations.
- Hands-on experience with major utilities and production machinery.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to interpret technical drawings.
