The Project Scheduler is a critical member of the Project Services team responsible for supporting Nexus Engineering Groups Project Management and Project Delivery functions through the development maintenance and analysis of integrated project schedules. This role partners closely with Project Managers Discipline Leads and Project Services leadership to ensure accurate planning forecasting and schedule performance tracking throughout all phases of engineering and construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and analyze project schedules from Front-End Loading (FEL) and Detailed Design through Construction and Commissioning
- Establish and maintain project logic networks schedule baselines risk management data forecasts and schedule quality checks
- Support earned value management including progress tracking schedule variance analysis and performance reporting
- Report to the Project Scheduling Lead and serve as a liaison between Project Services and Project Management on all planning and scheduling matters related to project execution
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads to develop project plans collect status updates and integrate schedule inputs
- Monitor actual progress against baseline schedules and report schedule impacts and trends to Project and Functional Management
- Participate in periodic schedule reviews to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Assist in the preparation of earned value reports schedule variance summaries and project planning documentation
- Support the review and continuous improvement of project scheduling procedures and best practices
Required Experience and Expertise
- 2-5 years of experience developing and maintaining engineering or construction project schedules (experience level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications)
- Experience using Primavera P6 for schedule development and analysis
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
- Understanding of earned value management forecasting and schedule performance metrics
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- PMP PSP or CCP certification a plus
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%
Educational/Certification Requirements
- BS Degree in Construction Management Engineering or other equivalent experience
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk listen and speak clearly on telephone
