Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a Transport Clerk you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transportation department. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and materials maintaining accurate records and providing support to our transport team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the movement of goods and materials including scheduling and tracking shipments

- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments

- Communicate with drivers suppliers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods

- Monitor and report on transportation costs and performance metrics

- Assist with the preparation of transportation-related documents such as bills of lading and customs forms

- Resolve any issues or delays in transportation and escalate to management when necessary

- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards

- Provide support to the transport team as needed including assisting with loading and unloading of goods

- Continuously identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for streamlining transportation processes

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics or a related field is an asset

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software

- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if required
