About the role

Sun Life Canada is strengthening its Value Realization Office with a critical mission to increase the flow of value across the Canadian business. This will complement the role of traditional PMOs in the enterprise and enable orchestrate and accelerate business outcomes ensuring the Canadian portfolio can achieve its strategic objectives and priorities.

We are seeking a Director Value Realization Office to join our dynamic this role you will help the Canada Value Realization Office accelerate the definition and dissemination of our Value Realization Framework (VRF) to help initiative owners estimate and track financial and non-financial results. You will build and ensure the adoption of clear and practical value measurement and attribution processes and accountabilities. You will generate insights on how Sun Life Canada might optimize its investments and generate the most value for our Shareholders Clients and Employees.

What youll be doing

  • Lead the implementation of Sun Lifes Value Realization Framework across all Canadian business units and functions
  • Define and implement value measurement and attribution best practices across the initiatives lifecycle from planning to post-implementation
  • Help all business units and support units across SL Canada in aligning their respective objectives and key results (OKRs) to the enterprise VRF and identify actionable insights
  • Work with initiative owners Agile Portfolio Managers and Strategy teams to tie initiative level results to strategic objectives (OKRs)
  • Define and enforce value estimate and tracking roles and responsibilities across different participants in the initiatives lifecycle
  • Build timely and accurate reporting of benefits tracking across different levels of the organization (e.g. Canada Business Unit Initiative)
  • Optimize the initiative benefits tracking process ensuring benefits are captured validated and reported with accuracy
  • Lead the preparation of materials and facilitation of the Global Value Realization Review an executive initiative review forum
  • Document processes standards requirements and technical specifications as needed and identify opportunities to increase efficiency of data collection and processing

What youll need to succeed

  • 5 years of experience leading business analysis financial analysis result dashboards and/or project & portfolio management
  • Data visualization experience such as Microsoft PowerBI and/or Tableau
  • Experience defining and implementing value measurement and attribution models and methodologies
  • Ability to develop and/or advise on data connectivity across systems of record to automate tracking of key results
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft product suite (Excel PowerPoint Teams and Co-Pilot).
  • Familiarity with Planview or comparable project and portfolio management tool is an asset
  • Bachelors degree in business finance or related field
  • Strong organizational awareness and ability to coordinate and align across different units with distinct needs and priorities
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to use data to build actionable and compelling insights
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and ability to influence outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative cross-functional environment
  • As this position is posted in several locations we specify that bilingualism (French English both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the position includes managing both French and English-speaking staff (Quebec and outside Quebec) and providing daily support to the team.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
